Welcome to Sentinel Music Studios!
Regarding guitar instruction, there are two things that I would like to share with you...
Two Different Approaches
Though there are many different methods for learning the guitar, there are in fact, only two different approaches to learning the guitar. The first approach is Instructor-guided, and the second approach is Student-directed? The most popular of these two approaches by far, is the Student-directed approach.
However, though the Student-directed is indeed the most popular, does this popularity suggest then that this particular approach is the best and therefore, preferable than the Instructor-guided approach? I sincerely believe that when there are two alternatives to consider, it behooves you to ask the question, "What makes one approach more preferable than the other?" and then to obtain the necessary answers to that question. I believe that you will be surprised at what you will discover.
Interestingly, and as someone has so eloquently stated, "'What' and 'If' are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if? What if? What if"
So then, "What if the student-directed approach is not the best approach?" ... or ... "What if the instructor-guided approach is not the best approach?"
I would like to take a few moments of your time to share with you just why I believe that the student-directed approach is not the best approach to learning the guitar. In fact, I would like to share with you just why I believe that the student-directed approach can even be potentially harmful to you and why the instructor-guided approach is the best and the safest way in which you can learn to play the guitar - or any strument for that matter.
As an expression of my sincerity, I am offering guitar lessons absolutely free! Therefore, you have absolutely nothing at all to lose - with the exception of an hour or two of your time.
My studio is located two blocks away from a Starbuck's location – so we could meet there if you would prefer. All that is required is for you to give me call or to send me an email to set up a time to meet. Or, if you would prefer, we could meet at my studio . It is entirely up to you.
Please note, I do not own a cell, so I am unable to text. I can also provide you with a criminal record check if you like.
In closing, I would to thank you for your time.
"A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart."
Solo Finger-Style Guitar Performances
I am also available for performances. My rates are very reasonable. Please call me or email me for further information as my rates are entirely dependent on the actual purpose of the performance.
My performances involve the use of three types of guitar, namely nylon-strung guitar, steel-strung guitar and electric guitar. This allows me to provide you with a varied repertoire. The following is a small sampling of my current repertoire:
A Swiss Tune
The Water is Wide
Samba Pa Ti
Though I do not consider myself a DJ, my current "live performance" set-up does permit me to provide limited DJ-Type services. Again, please call me or email me for further information.
